The effect of allergies can be mitigated by using a number of approaches and the methodologies, by the patients in minimizing the aggravation caused by the allergies. Most common effect of the allergies is severe itching that can be alleviated by soaking in the water, which has Epsom salt dissolved in it. A person should soak in this water up to twenty minutes, three to four times in a day. After every bath it is important to dry up the skin completely and opt for boric acid based ointment to treat the itching areas of the skin. In case of children, Vaseline can be used as an ointment for the same purpose. One of the most effective tips against fighting the allergies is to know what factors cause reaction in the individual’s bodies. Thus, when going out for dining, make instructions to the waiter to serve the dishes, which do not contain the food constituents known to produce allergic reactions in one’s body. When buying the canned food or the groceries for home, make sure to read the labels of the same, in order to identify any allergic product in order to curb the chances of complications occurring from its consumption. For the people who are allergic to pollen, it is important that they choose their environment to live and work wisely. During the pollen season most of the people who might be suffering from allergic reactions due to the pollen in the air and everywhere around, are recommended to take out time and picnic near the sea, which has decreased number of pollens.

In order to mitigate the itchiness of the eyes triggered due to the allergies special care should be taken. One of the foremost tips to ease the eye muscles is to use a clean washcloth to envelope an ice cube to be applied to the eye to reduce its itchiness. Do not use tissues or other paper products as they are known to leave behind traces which will aggravate the condition of the eyes further. The best option in this case is to make use of the washcloth. Once the eyes are dry, individuals can opt for using the eye drops as prescribed by their doctors. If the eye drops are not available make sure to frequently wash the eyes and use rose water for the same purpose. Another thing to make sure is taking the allergy pills regularly, to stop the allergy from getting bad to worse.

One of the most effective tips against allergies is to keep the bodies well hydrated by drinking up to eight glasses of water daily. This will help in flushing out the allergy causing elements from the body sooner thus, pacing up the recovery process. Make sure to take vitamin supplements as prescribed by the doctors to regulate the flow of the vital elements along with the blood to the various parts of the body, which will aid the body in fighting the allergies.

Allergy occurs due to reaction or hypersensitivity towards any foreign substance due to weak immune system. Allergy is actually the body’s effort to get rid of something which is apprehended as inappropriate by the body.

The most common types of allergies include Nasal allergies and Chronic allergies. Nasal allergies are caused due to the contact of the foreign particles such as dust or pollen with cells inside the lining of the nose.

In case of chronic allergy, the patient may get affected by the allergy stimulus such as dry air, cold air, smoke, and other particles present in the atmosphere. The treatment for nasal and chronic allergy may follow same procedure; however, it is important to recognise the type of allergy you may be suffering from.

Allergic rhinitis is a common type of respiratory allergy which includes hay fever, allergy to pollen, and asthma. Hives, eczema, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, etc are common types of skin allergies.

Other types of allergies include food allergies, medication allergies, allergies to insect venom, anaphylaxis, and environmental allergies. Pollen, dust mite allergy, mold, and animal dander are some commonly known environmental allergies.

Allergy rhinitis is caused as a result of inhaling pollens, trees, grass, or ragweed. This allergy is seasonal and is most commonly active in spring and fall season.

Dust mite allergy occurs as a reaction to microscopic organisms found in dust particles contained in houses or buildings. Dust mite allergy might also cause symptoms of asthma in the sufferer.

Mold allergy is basically caused as a result of hypersensitivity to household molds. This allergy is more prevalent during summer season.

Asthma is characterised as inflammation of the lungs due to sensitivity to odours, chemical, and dust particles which may be inhaled through our nose. Asthmatic allergy includes symptoms such as shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing. These allergens basically trigger the asthma in people suffering from asthma otherwise.

Allergic eczema is a skin allergy which is usually a skin rash that may cause you to suffer from redness, itchiness, or dryness of the skin. The rash usually occurs around the eyes, behind the knees, or in elbow creases. Hive is also another type of skin allergy that causes feelings of itchiness in the patient. The affected area may look like a raised welt and may get wider due to the allergic reaction.

A person may develop sensitivity to food items such as cow’s milk, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish. This sensitivity is terms as food allergy and contains symptoms such as skin rashes, nausea, diarrhoea, and swelling and itching of lips, mouth or throat.

Allergic reaction to certain medicines can be really serious. Some of the common symptoms of medication allergy include itchy or tight throat, difficulty in breathing, trouble in swallowing etc. Medication allergy means that you are likely to suffer from the same symptoms if you take that medicine again in future. Therefore, it is important to be very strict about any types of allergy to certain medication as it can be life threatening as well.

Some insect bites may also cause allergic reactions as in the case of sting of a bee, hornet, and wasp.
