Introduction of Fevers
Nothing irritates a person more than the fatigue and exhaustion caused by the fevers. The normal temperature of a human body is 98.4 0 F, anything above that range is a fever. Fever is the reaction of the body towards the adverse conditions I has to face. The causes of fevers thus, can be varied. This is why it is sometimes considered a good thing as it is one’s body response to any posed threat or danger.
Fevers can be identified by the rise in the body heat temperature. It might sometime be accompanied by sever perspiration or shivering. This leads to irritation and restlessness. A person may also complain of pain and soreness all over the body. Some patients suffering from fever also feel thirsty at a very frequent rate however, in others it may result in a loss of appetite.
The presence of all these symptoms is not necessary in all types of fevers. Some predominant or the leading symptoms can however be detected as confirm symptoms. These include the amount of heat radiated from the body. According to medical classification, fevers can be segregates into many types. One of the most common being, the ‘typhoid fever’ which results due to the deposition of bacteria in the food and water of a habitat to effect its resident. These bacteria are deposited by a human carrier and are then spread to other people in the area.
Malarial fever is another nuisance that causes much agony among the patients suffering from it. Tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world are especially affected by this fever. Malaria has existed in the world since centuries and is basically an infection of blood that is carried from one person to another by mosquitoes.
Another complication that also leads to the complication and inflammation of joints, heart valves, vessels and brain is the ‘rheumatic fever’. It is a delayed, auto-immune reaction to the streptococcus bacteria and can be prevented with prompt diagnosis of strep throat, and treatment of strep throat with antibiotics.
Another type of fever resulting due to the mosquitoes is the ‘dengue fever’. It is by a family of viruses transmitted by mosquitoes. It is an acute illness that usually leads to aches, swollen glands, joint pains etc. Dengue is known to affect people with low immunity.
Another type of fever that poses danger to all age groups is the ‘meningitis fever’. The most common infectious cause of meningitis is the habitat, age, habits, and health status of an individual. They can be segregated into two categories based on bacterial and non-bacterial meningitis. Of the two, bacterial meningitis is potentially life-threatening.
