There are various types of skin diseases which can grow on human skin and cause problems. Some are form of allergies which might be temporary or permanent, while some are infections or fungal problems. Nearly all types of skin diseases occur in the form of rashes. By the looks of it, one cannot differentiate between the different types of diseases.

A common or temporary skin rash can generally go away by taking a simple anti-allergy. However, most skin rashes persist and need to diagnosed and treated with proper medication.

Pimples or acne is a common skin problem amongst adolescents and teenagers. It is mostly found on the face but can spread to the surrounding areas as well. This rash is in the form of red swollen spots with a white centre. These pimples are often painful when touched or rubbed. They are generally caused by changes in the hormonal system at puberty but dietary factors might be another cause such as the intake of oily foods or germs on the skin.

Like Pimples, prickly heat is another inflammatory skin condition where the skin becomes irritated because of heavy perspiration. It mostly occurs under the folds of the skin and also by wearing more than required clothing during summers. This condition develops tiny blisters with a clear fluid inside and results in extreme itchiness.

Hives is another inflammatory condition whereby the skin forms swollen blisters filled with yellowish fluid. They can occur on any part of the body. These inflammations are caused due to some foreign protein substance in the body such as eggs, extreme temperature changes, insect bites and caterpillars.

Measles is another skin disease which is marked by red spots followed by a rash. This a highly contagious viral infection and causes acute fever as well. The rashes are prominent mostly on the face and spread throughout the body as well. Chicken pox and warts are other kind of viral and contagious diseases which should be treated in the same way as measles.

Impetigo is a pus infection that spreads rapidly and is found on the face, scalp and hands. These are little blisters which might increase in size and spread and sometimes might discharge a thin fluid. Impetigo is a very contagious disease and mostly affects children. And a child with this disease should be kept away from other children. The patient suffering from the disease should have separate towels and should avoid touching these blisters as well.

Ringworm is a fungal infection and is of many different types. It can occur anywhere in the body especially scalp, nails and between the toes. Ringworm produces grey spots which can go upto two inches wide. On the body it exists as small pink spots which gradually transform into ring shaped areas. The affected area suffers from itching and burning and formation of blisters. Ringworm is difficult to control and is easily transmitted via towels, combs and hairbrushes.
